CLARE JENSEN

1942 - 2007

Clare Urael Jensen of Taber, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the age of 65 years.
He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn, his sons Todd (Melinda), Chris, Paul and Shawn. He was a proud grandfather of Elisha (Jared), Brandon, Reagan, Ashley, Jordan, Nick, Justin, Matthew and Sydni.  He is also survived by his brothers and sister Barry (Sharon), Reg (Brenda), Penny (Danny) Collett and his mother-in-law Mary Malinksy. Clare will be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his parents Urael and Matilda Jensen.
Born in Lethbridge on March 7, 1942, Clare was raised on a farm north of Purple Springs where he resided until his passing.  He attended Taber High School after which he met and married Carolyn Malinsky in August of 1968. Clare and Carolyn raised their four sons on the family farm where they enjoyed horseback riding, motor biking, trail riding with the Sugar Town Saddle Club and visits with family and friends.
Clare was a long standing member of the Taber Pro Rodeo Association. Everyone will remember seeing Clare in the arena at the Taber Agriplex. He worked tirelessly for many years on the rodeo committee to ensure that Taber had a rodeo that it could be proud of. Clare will always be best remembered for his ready smile, teasing manner and big bear hugs. He was a big man with the gentleness of a teddy bear. Clare’s gruff voice covered up a heart that was tender and kind. He dearly loved his grandchildren and his family was very important to him. Clare enjoyed spending time socializing with his many friends and acquaintances around town. He was a member of the First Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Friends may meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006-48 Ave., Taber on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 between 8:30 and 9:30 P.M. and Thursday, prior to the service, from 12:45 to 1:45 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 54th Street Chapel, 5314-54 Street, Taber on Thursday, August 9 at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Frank Walton conducting. Burial to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
