Cheryl was born in Taber on April 29, 1949 to Virginia (nee Duncombe) & Fred Jensen. She was raised on the farm at Fincastle along with her four siblings. She helped out around the farm by milking cows, cooking, cleaning and caring for her younger siblings. She was also involved with the 4-H Club during her youth. Cheryl was a wonderful caregiver to her grandmother Ivy Jensen for a number of years.
She graduated from W.R. Myers High School in Taber and attended the Henderson College in Lethbridge where she earned her designation as a Legal Secretary. Cheryl later met Stanley Anderson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. They were married in Williams Lake, British Columbia on September 19, 1975. Their first daughter Patricia was born May 20, 1976 and their family later grew with the birth of a second daughter, Brenda on August 9, 1980.
Cheryl loved music and watching Stanley perform with his band. In doing so, they traveled all of Western Canada and as far south as Mississippi and Texas. She devoted her entire life to raising her two daughters and helping others with their children as well. She worked at a number of jobs but her love was working as a bookkeeper the last several years. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo at the Royal Canadian Legion. Cheryl’s favorite pastime was spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and being surrounded by her family and friends.
Cheryl had a long struggle over the last few years with numerous health problems. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and always remembered for the love and generosity shown to everyone around her.
