ALEX ASTALOS

1920 - 2011

Alexander Joseph Astalos, beloved husband of Margaret Astalos, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the age of 90 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra Riddell officiating.
Besides his loving wife Margaret, he is survived by his children Paul (Lucille) Astalos of Coaldale, Larry (Elaine) Astalos of Calgary and Leonard Astalos of Taber; grandchildren Jason (Carol) Astalos, Jeremy (Lisa) Astalos, Shelley (Travis) Kunz, Kristy, Brayden, Travis and Morgan Astalos; five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Katherine Fargo, Marie (Herb) Hansen and Clara (Walter) Miller.
He was predeceased by his parents Paul & Mary Astalos; brother and sister-in-law Andy & Elsie Astalos.
Alex was born in Hungary on May 21, 1920. At a young age he immigrated to Canada with his mother and older brother. Upon arriving in Canada they joined his father and the family settled in Taber. In 1948 he married Margaret Bach and together they raised their family in Taber. Alex farmed most of his life, however he did spend some time doing electrical work in Calgary. He enjoyed travelling and listening to his own private music.
