DEAN ANDERSON

1923 - 2005

Mr. Dean Albert Anderson, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Maydell Anderson, of Taber, passed away at home on Friday, March 25, 2005 at the age of 81 years.
Dean was born July 5, 1923 at Barnwell where he also received his schooling. He served with the RCAF during WWII. On November 8, 1946, he married Maydell Edwards of Taber. Together they farmed at Barnwell, Fort Macleod, River Bend and finally east of Taber where they raised their family and where Dean made his home until the time of his passing. He cherished his friends and the time spent on "coffee row" and at the card club.
Dean is survived by his five children and their families, Deanna (Laurence) Eldridge of Taber and their children Rebecca, Pamela (Jason) Matthews, Dana (Mark) Evans and Shauna; Reg (Brenda) Anderson of Burnaby, B.C. and their children Charles (Mandy), Kirsten (Glenn) Christensen and Kandice (Rob) Titerlie; Jolayne (Don) Onofrychuk of Lethbridge and their children Brent (Shelly), Bradley (Heather), William (Annette), Jennifer (Justin) Davis and Kenneth; Janis (Frederick) Clark of Strathmore and their children Johnathan, Catherine (Danny) Gonzales, James, Jeffrey, Christina and Jeremy; Veneta (Douglas) Cooper of Stirling and their children Dallin, Rylan, Rachel and Cole. Dean will be remembered as "Big Papa" by twenty great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Rex (Joanne) Anderson of Barnwell, his sister Gladys Davidson of West Vancouver, B.C., his sister-in-law Doreen Anderson of Barnwell and by Maydell's family, his brother & sisters-in-law Eldon & Mary Edwards of Lethbridge, Donna Valgardson of Taber and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Dean was predeceased by his wife Maydell, his granddaughter Caroline Clark and by two brothers, Heber and Boyd.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and at the church prior to the funeral service on Thursday, March 31, 2005 from 11:30 A.M. to 12:40 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Frank Walton conducting. Interment will follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
