ELEANOR BERES

1916 - 1998

Eleanor Beres of Taber, beloved wife of the late Steve Beres, passed away on Friday, October 2, 1998 at the age of 82 years.
Eleanor Flanders was born on February 9, 1916 at Magrath and married Steve Beres on March 25, 1938. Eleanor worked as a cook at Cap’s Java and later worked at the Palace Hotel and Taber Frozen Foods all in Taber.
She is survived by a niece Beverly (Thys) Van Weele of Fort Macleod; a niece Barb Beres of Lethbridge; a nephew Bob (Sylvia) Beres of Lethbridge; a nephew Bud (Peggy) Beres of Red Deer; sister-in-law Isabel (Ted) Ronney of New Dayton; brothers-in-law Alex (Emma) Chogi of Taber and Joe (Clara) Chogi of Ponoka; cousins Marie McDougal of Dufin, Eddy (Sis) McCracken of Stony Plain and also by other cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Steve, brother-in-law John Beres and sisters-in-law Mary and Goldie.
Eleanor will be dearly missed by all the members of Taber Legion Branch No. 20 and her many friends in Taber, especially those at Homestead Manor.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, October 6, 1998 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, October 7, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Ken Crassweller officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
