PETER BAERG

1918 - 2003

Peter Baerg of Taber, passed away in Calgary on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at the age of 84 years.
Peter was born at Gregorjewka Kharkow, Ukraine on August 26, 1918, the son of John and Susanna (Penner) Baerg. He came to Canada in February, 1926 with his family, settling in Manitoba. In 1957 he moved to south Hays where he homesteaded and in 1998 moved to Taber. Peter enjoyed his leisure time reading and exploring history.
Peter is survived by eight brothers and sisters Bill (Marge) Baerg of Abbotsford, British Columbia, George (Kay) Baerg of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Helen Gerber of Enderby, British Columbia, Neil (Fran) Baerg of Florida, Ike (Marg) Baerg of Penticton, British Columbia, Ben (Dorothy) Baerg of Hays, Dave (Justina) Baerg of Winnipegosis, Manitoba and Sue (Henry) Unruh of Enchant and two sisters-in-law Norma Baerg of California and Clara Baerg of Morden, Manitoba.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Susanna Baerg, sister Anne Baerg, brothers John and Jake Baerg, two sisters-in-law Mary Baerg and Helen Baerg, brother-in-law Albert Gerber and four nephews Robert, Dan, Philip and Tim.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, May 30, 2003 from 8:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Rod Taylor officiating. Interment followed in the Vauxhall Mennonite Cemetery.
