MERLE BIRCH

1906 - 2003

Elsie Merle Birch (Hall) beloved wife of the late Earl Birch, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Taber Continuing Care Facility on Sunday, June 1, 2003 at the age of 96 years.
Merle (Nan to her family) leaves to mourn her children Leith (Emma) of Calgary, Kaye Fisher of Calgary and Garnet (Carol) of Homeland, California; sisters Bernice Haynes and Beth (Lyman) Hall of Calgary; sisters-in-law Ina and Anna Hall of Taber; fifteen grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Earl in 1966; their son Dale in 1957 and son-in-law Patrick Fisher in 1987.
Merle had a special love for her family, flowers, the outdoors, camping, was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and again prior to the funeral service in the Relief Society Room of the Church on Thursday, June 5, 2003 from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50th Avenue, Taber on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop Ray Gardner officiating. Interment followed in the family plot at the Taber Memorial Garden.
