JEANETTE JORSTAD

1915 - 2003

Jeanette Jorstad of Taber, beloved wife of the late John Jorstad, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at the age of 87 years, three days before celebrating her 88th birthday.
Jeanette was born in Irvine, Alberta on June 20, 1915, the only daughter born to John and Marie Lien. She received her schooling in Irvine and upon graduation moved to Medicine Hat where she attended Garbutt Business College. On September 27, 1936 she married John Jorstad. They moved to Taber where they made their home and resided ever since. Jeanette was a proud supporter in the community of Taber and could always be counted on to support the local youth groups. She was a very active member of Knox United Church. Jeanette was a life long member of Knox U.C.W, The Moose Lodge and the Taber Curling Club. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Jeanette will be forever remembered and cherished in the hearts of her children and grandchildren: daughter, Shirley Jorstad of Taber and her children Dawn (Eric), Darcy (Lee) and Craig (Rose); daughter, Marilyn (George) Sebok of Taber and their children Debra (Adam), Lori (Tom), Jerry (Roberta), Glen, Dale and Marcy (Derek); son, Ralph (Carol) Jorstad of Bellevue, Wash. and their daughter Anne; seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Chester Lien of Langley, British Columbia and Leonard Lien of Medicine Hat as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, June 19, 2003 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber, on Friday, June 20, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
