TOM ADKINS

1957 - 1999

Tom Adkins, beloved husband of Betty Adkins of Taber, passed away at Gull Lake, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, February 23, 1999 at the age of 41 years.
Tom was born on October 16, 1957 in Radway, the son of Albert and Florence Adkins. He married Betty Russell on November 24, 1978 in Westlock. Tom had apprenticed and became a Journeyman Autobody Mechanic which he had a passion for restoring and collecting older cars. He switched careers in 1990 gaining employment within the oil industry and was most recently employed as a Senior Battery Operator. He enjoyed being in the outdoors going camping and fishing and was a committee member for Ducks Unlimited. Tom devoted himself to Taber Minor Baseball being an active coach helping the young players grow and develop their skills. His real passion in life was his family and always made time for his sons as they were active with school sporting events. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Besides his loving wife Betty, Tom leaves to cherish his memory his sons David, Dylan and Tommy all of Taber; his sisters and brother, Judy (Gary) Shaw, Cheryl (Ed) Ermantrout, Greg “Sandy” (Audrey) Adkins and Kim (Shawn) Bratt; two half brothers Barry and Larry Adkins.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Albert and Florence Adkins.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet for Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, February 25, 1999 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, February 26, 1999 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim de los Angeles officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
