Muriel Ratcliff of Taber, beloved wife of the late Fred Ratcliff, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at the age of 99 years.
Muriel was born on June 29, 1904 at Montreal, Quebec. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Queen’s University in Montreal and attended Normal Teaching College in Calgary. Muriel married Frederick James Ratcliff in 1938 at Christ Church, Calgary. She was a lifetime Gold Cross Member of the Anglican Church Women.
Muriel is survived by her two children John (Lesley) Ratcliff of Sherwood Park and Margaret Ratcliff of Taber; grandchildren Corinne (Alan) Yakiwchuk, Janelle (Harry) Blumenschein and Arlon Ratcliff; four great grandsons Joshua & Archer Blumenschein and Christopher & Kevin Yakiwchuk; a sister-in-law Clyde Archer; niece and nephews Jack (Isabel) Archer, Jim Archer, Fred (Margaret) Archer, Linda (José) Vargas and grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred Ratcliff in 1960, brothers Jack Archer in 1934 and Douglas Archer in 1977.
A Funeral Service was held at St. Theodore’s Anglican Church, 5120 - 44 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. with Canon Allan McCuaig officiating.
A Funeral Service was also be held at Christ Church, 3602 - 8 Street S.W., Calgary on Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. A private graveside service took place on Friday, October 17 at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Calgary.
