1913 - 2003

Paul G.J. Smith of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Madeline Smith, passed away at Adapta Care in Lethbridge, on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the age of 90 years and 8 days.
Paul was born December 2, 1913 in Sanfordean, Saskatchewan. In 1941 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served in the North Atlantic Active Service until December 1945. Paul met his future wife Madeline McCue in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 1942 and they were married on May 2, 1944. In 1947 they settled on the farm east of Wrentham and retired to Lethbridge in 1990.
Paul is survived by his son Francis (Cicine) Smith of Wrentham and their children Tara (Dan) Willis and Justin Smith (Karey Seward) of Lethbridge and Leanne Smith of Calgary; his daughter Rosemary (Rick) Andrei of Calgary and her children Sean Zerebeski of Calgary and Melissa Zerebeski of Edmonton. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters.
Paul was predeceased by his wife of forty nine years, as well as one brother and four sisters.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family and pay their respects at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, December 14, 2003 from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
The Graveside Service was held at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge on Monday, December 15 at 11:00 A.M.
