1930 - 2003

Jannes (John) Klok, beloved husband of Jewel Klok of Taber, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2003 at the age of 73 years.
Besides his devoted wife, Jewel, he is survived by six children, Rod (Joyce) and their children Janine and Andrea; Ivan and his children Cindy and Colin; Wayne (Sylvia) and their children Justine and Christine; Dennis (Noreen) and their children Jordyn, Jenna and Aaron; Sandra Klok all of Taber and Wendy (Ken) Byl and their children Alyssa and Cara of Chilliwack, B.C.; sisters Geesje Rispens of Holland and Rika (Peter) Zuidof of Taber; brothers Jan (Gerrie) of Holland, Henry (Evelyn) of Telkwa, B.C., Hank (Helen) Klok of Taber and Bob (Alice) Klok of Calgary and sister-in-law Jean Klok of Taber.
He was predeceased by his parents Hendrik and Willemke Klok; a son Terry and a brother Bill.
John was born on February 17, 1930 at Smilde Drenthe, The Netherlands. He came to Canada with his parents, brothers and a sister in 1951, settling in the Taber area. On April 16, 1957 he married Jewel Dornbush. After working in various fields, John apprenticed as a carpenter. In the late 60’s, John and his brother Hank started Klok Construction which is presently operated by his sons.
Relatives and friends were invited to a Prayer Service at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, November 24, 2003 at 7:30 P.M.
The Graveside Service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service was held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Mike Vandyk officiating.
