DONALD LYON

1905 - 2003

Donald Percy Lyon, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Ilene Lyon, passed away in Taber on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at the age of 98 years.
Donald was born on February 24, 1905 in Ottawa, Ontario. He married Ilene Reid on December 3, 1935 at Medicine Hat, Alberta. Donald worked for many years for the P.F.R.A. in Vauxhall. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and his passions were gardening, flowers, horses and music.
He is survived by one son Ross (Loretta) Lyon of Rimbey and their children Douglas (Kris) Lyon of Calgary, Barry (Sandra) Lyon of Ponoka and Shelley (Paul) Fredbjornson of Taber; two nephews Jim (Audrey) Larson of Calgary and their two children Terry (Roberta) Larson of Strathmore and Art (Mary-Ellen) Larson of Calgary and Gordon Lyon of Cranbrook; and also by one sister Evelyn Lyon of Medicine Hat.
Donald was predeceased by his wife Ilene Lyon on February 16, 1998; a brother Ethan Lyon of Cranbrook and three sisters Aimee Larson, Thyrza Lyon and Reta Tidwell all of Medicine Hat.
The Funeral Service was held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Monday, December 15, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead and Janice McCloskey officiating. Interment followed in the Vauxhall Cemetery.
