ED VALGARDSON

1952 - 2003

Edwin Alan Valgardson, beloved husband of Jennifer Valgardson of Taber, passed away in Calgary, after a heroic battle with cancer, on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at the age of 51 years.
Ed was born at Taber on March 1, 1952 to Marvin and Theresa Valgardson. He received his schooling in Taber and married Jennifer Parker on February 2, 1974. Ed attended SAIT where he enrolled as a Heavy Duty Mechanic and completed his journeyman with R. Angus. In 1978 Ed started C.E.M. Heavy Equipment. He enjoyed his work and took pride in running his business. He was well respected within the business sector and the community.
Ed was a dedicated and loving husband, father and son who will be missed by his wife Jennifer, daughters Corey Valgardson (Mike Davis) and Kristy Valgardson (fiance Jeff Bell), grandson Luke Bell and mother Theresa Valgardson. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Bob (Arlene) Valgardson, Larry (Marion) Valgardson, Pete (Patty) Valgardson, Patricia (Ross) Calverley and Kathy (Norman) Czibere; eleven nieces and eleven nephews; his parents-in-law Gary and Patricia Valgardson and Ken and Ann Parker.
Ed was predeceased by his father Marvin Valgardson on March 5, 2003.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral serice on Saturday, December 27, 2003 from 9:45 A.M. to 10:45 A.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, December 27, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Bruce Francis officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
It is the wish of the family that memorial donations be made to a Trust Fund set up for the Corey and Darla Peterson family, c/o Alberta Treasury Branch, Taber. Darla is also battling cancer.
