JOHN BRAUN

1914 - 1999

John Dyck Braun passed away peacefully in Coaldale on Sunday, May 23, 1999 at the age of 84 years.
John was born in Hague, Saskatchewan on June 9, 1914. He was baptized at the the Old Colony Church in Hague. John married Helena Zacharias on July 14, 1935 and in 1954 they moved to Barnwell where they farmed. In 1974 they retired to Taber. On March 17, 1985 his wife Helena passed away. He later married Helen Loewen of Hague. John resided at Homestead Manor in Taber and for the past six months and had resided at the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale.
John leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Helen (Art) Minton of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Anne (Fred) Edwards of Silver Ridge, Manitoba, Mary (John) Kuntz of Barnwell and Tina (Rudy) Horvath of Taber; his sons Cornie (Susie) Braun of Hague, Saskatchewan, John (Anne) Braun of Sylvan Lake and Dave Braun of Taber. He is also survived by his sister Helen Janzen of Saskatoon; brothers George (Margaret) Braun of La Crete, Henry (Sadie) Braun of Churchbridge, Saskatchewan and Cornie Braun of Swan Plain, Saskatchewan as well as twenty grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, May 27, 1999 from 8:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Evangelical Free Church, 4418 - 52 Street, Taber on Friday, May 28, 1999 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ron Gartly officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
