KEN NAKATSURU

1958 - 2002

Kenichi (Ken) Nakatsuru of Bow Island, beloved husband of Suzie Nakatsuru, passed away suddenly near Bow Island on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at the age of 43 years.
Ken was born in Taber on September 1, 1958, a son of George and Mie Nakatsuru. Ken was raised in Bow Island where he graduated from Senator Gershaw High School in 1976. Continuing his education, he attended McGill University in Montreal and graduated in 1981, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree. Ken moved back to the Bow Island area where he helped with his father’s and uncle’s farm which he eventually took over. He married Shizuko (Suzie) Okuzawa on November 5, 1983. Ken enjoyed life and all it had to offer him. He had a variety of interests which included working with his computer, going fishing and enjoying the outdoors and the wildlife. Ken mostly enjoyed the company of his family and he will be sadly missed by them. Besides his wife Suzie, he is survived by his two sons, Victor age fourteen and Harrison age twelve; his father George Nakatsuru; a brother Shaun Nakatsuru and his wife Martha Shaffer and their two children Miya and Michael all of Toronto. Ken was predeceased by his mother, Mie Nakatsuru.
The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, March 21, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Nariyuki Hattori officiating.
