In the late 1960’s he attended “Tech” school at SAIT, earning certification as a welder. They moved to Taber in 1981 where he worked for the Taber Irrigation District until his retirement in 1992. Throughout his life he enjoyed going camping and fishing which continued well into his retirement. Taras’ fishing holes included Fincastle and Sherbourne.
