TORGNY SKRETTING

1930 - 2002

Torgny Skretting of Coaldale, beloved husband of Doreen, passed away in Lethbridge on Thursday, March 28, 2002 at the age of 71 years.
Torgny was born on the family farm near Milo by Lake McGregor on December 21, 1930, the son of Gabriel and Martha Skretting. He married Doreen Speaker on November 29, 1958 and they farmed in the Circle Hill District until they moved to Coaldale in 1996. Torgny loved cars, mechanics, bingo and bowling and enjoyed being a long time member of the Vauxhall Lions Club. Family, friends and especially his grandchildren were an important part of Torgny’s life. He will be deeply missed.
Torgny will be forever remembered and loved by his wife Doreen; three children Darren (Sharon) and their children Matthew, Brock and Tristan; Judy (Wes) Honess and their children Mitch, Faren and Riley and Beverly Skretting and her son Luke and special friend Derek. The love and support of his sister Mary & George Webber and Ray & Ingrid Speaker, who were with Torgny and his family during his last two days is truly appreciated. He is also survived by numerous other special relatives.
He was predeceased by his parents Gabriel and Martha Skretting and brothers Reider and Einar.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, April 1, 2002 from 7:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Enchant Community Hall, Enchant on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ed Summers officiating. Interment followed in the Enchant Cemetery.
