MARIAN FORTIN

1915 - 2002

Marian Fortin, beloved wife of the late Sylvio (Sid) Fortin, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, April 15, 2002 at the age of 86 years.
Marian was born in Cardston on October 9, 1915 to John and Marion Hendry, the second child in a family of three brothers and one sister.
She leaves to mourn her sister Helen Bowden of Lethbridge; brother Cliff (Nora) Hendry of Edmonton; sister-in-law Opal Hendry of Cardston and nine nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Marion, brothers John and Russell and first husband Dick Castleman.
Marian was raised and attended school in Cardston. After finishing school her and her sister Helen moved to Lethbridge to work where she met and later married Dick Castleman. They traveled the country working as cooks until Dick passed away. Marion moved to Calgary and continued to work as a cook. After a few years she met up with her old time sweetheart Sid Fortin. Marian and Sid had been separated by the war and had gone their own ways. They were married and retired to Monarch where she enjoyed gardening and pursued her passion for sewing, knitting and dolls. Marian was so happy with her life with her solemate Sid, it was her dream come true; a happy home and her loving Sid. Sadly Sid passed away in the spring of 1999. Marian moved to Lethbridge to live with her sister Helen and nieces family until her passing.
The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, April 18 at 10:30 A.M. with Mr. Colin Whitlock officiating. Interment followed in the Grassy Lake Cemetery.
