JAKE VAN STALDINE

1926 - 2002

Jacob (Jake) Van Staldine, of Foremost, passed away at the Bow Island Hospital on Friday, July 5, 2002 at the age of 75 years.
Jake was born October 20, 1926 on the family farm, the son of Marinus and Jenny Van Staalduine. He received his schooling at Neighborview and Foremost schools. Jake was an avid sportsman. He played baseball with the Foremost Braves and hockey with the Foremost men’s Flyers, later turning to curling and golf. He farmed, ranched, delivered mail and was a fieldman for Balog Auction. At the time of Jake’s passing registered quarter horses were his passion.
Jake is survived by two sisters Jean (Arne) Rasmussen of Medicine Hat and Nellie (Orvel) Stovel of Foremost; three brothers Evert of Abbotsford, Barney of Bow Island and John (Betty) Of Foremost and also by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers Neil and Dick; a sister Marie; brother-in-law George Minor and sisters-in-law June and Sue Van Staalduine.
The Funeral Service was held at the Foremost Community Hall 104 - 3 Avenue East, Foremost on Saturday, July 13, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Lara Bowditch of the United Church of Canada officiating.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Jake’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
