GRACE RUSSELL

1923 - 2002

Grace Elizabeth Russell, beloved wife of the late Charles Russell, passed away in Lethbridge on Monday, August 12, 2002 at the age of 78 years.
Grace was born in Spokane, Washington on December 14, 1923, a daughter of Lewis and Blanche Morrison. Following her fathers passing in 1926, at the age of three, she came to Canada with her mother, sisters and brothers settling in Piapot, Saskatchewan. She received her schooling in Piapot and later married Charles Russell there on December 24, 1942. The couple farmed in Maple Creek for a couple of years and then moved to Wrentham where they farmed until Charles had his stroke in 1983. Shortly following Charles’ illness, they moved to Taber where Charles passed away in 1990. Grace had resided in Taber until the time of her passing.
Grace will be forever remembered by her children Ray (Linda) Morrison of New Bern, North Carolina, Irene Russell of Calgary, Donald (Carol) Russell of Taber, Charlotte Bleeker of Langley, British Columbia and Patricia Derksen of Taber; her brothers and sisters, Jim (Bernice) Morrison, Irvine (Shirley) Scott, Irma (Mike) Truchan, Alma McKay, Marilyn (Jim) Kalisvaart and Dorothy Jones; twelve grandchildren, Kimberley, Karma, Alan, Warren, Gerald, Elizabeth, Charles, Francis, Michael, Paula, Noel and Derek; thirteen great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, August 16, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Wes Midgett officiating. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
