GABRIEL STROM

2000 - 2002

It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the passing of our beloved son and grandson, Gabriel Oscar Strom who was called home to the Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2002 at the precious age of 2 1/2 years.
Gabriel will be forever remembered and cherished in the hearts of his parents, Oscar and Christy Strom (nee Droog) of Lethbridge; maternal grandparents Tom and Emmy Droog of Bow Island; paternal grandmother Merrilyn Strom of Medicine Hat and great-grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Weir of Bow Island and Marcelle Strom of Saskatoon; uncles, Barry (Jenn) Strom, Kyle Strom, Randy (Danielle) Droog and auntie Mel (Gord) Strom and cousins, along with numerous other “adopted” aunts and uncles and his good puppy friend “Sullie”.
He was predeceased by his grandfather Barry Strom; great-grandfather Alfred Strom; Oma and Opa Droog and Oma and Opa Van Diepen.
Gabriel constantly touched those who knew him. He was a happy little boy who always smiled and made us feel so happy. He was our sunshine and will be dearly missed by all who loved him. We do not know why our little angel was taken from us and everything feels like a blur now. We have so many good memories of our little boy who loved life so much. He was especially fond of grandma and grandpa’s farm. He could always be seen with Grandpa riding around in the truck looking at fields and visiting neighbors.
His beautiful smile and character will be so sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. There will forever be a void in our hearts that will never fill now that our “Angel” Gabriel is gone. We’ll miss him dearly. Sweet dreams our sweet, sweet baby.
Grandma and Grandpas Droog’s farm was Gabriel’s favorite place and as a tribute to him, Gabriel will be taken to the farm where those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Wednesday, December 11, 2002.
A private interment service took place at the Bow Island Cemetery on Thursday morning, December 12, 2002.
The Funeral Service was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1113 - 1 Street East, Bow Island on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 1:00 P.M.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Gabriel’s name can be made directly to the Bow Island Ambulance Service c/o the Town of Bow Island, P.O. Box 100 Bow Island, Alberta T0K 0G0.
