LEWIS TAYLOR

1937 - 2001

Lewis Murray Taylor, beloved husband of Arlie Taylor of Taber, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at the age of 63 years.
Lewis was born at Windsor, Nova Scotia on March 9, 1937 and was the son of William and Merle Taylor. He received his schooling in Windsor moving to the Taber area in 1964, returning to Windsor later the same year. In 1969 Lewis returned to Taber where he continued to live. On July 11, 1970 Lewis married Arlie Bowman and in 1973 he started Lewis Taylor Construction. He played Commercial League and Old Timers Hockey and enjoyed all sports.
Besides his loving wife Arlie, he is survived by his four children Shauna of Calgary, Sheila of Lethbridge, Shane and Shari of Taber; brothers and sisters Leon (Pat) Taylor, Josephine (John) Munroe, Kaye Taylor, Madelon (Herb) Rafuse and Paul Taylor all of Nova Scotia; numerous nieces and nephews; father-in-law Marvin Bowman and Arlie’s sisters and brothers and their families. He was predeceased by infant daughter Shannon in 1974, mother-in-law Jean Bowman and parents William and Merle Taylor.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, February 23, 2001 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, February 24, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Larry Taylor conducting. Interment followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
