HELENA BRAUN

1912 - 2000

The Lord saw fit to take our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Helena Braun home on February 17, 2000.
Helena was born on February 1, 1912 in Warman, Saskatchewan, the second child of Cornelius and Katharina Heide. She married George Braun on November 11, 1935 in Warman, Saskatchewan and together they had a family of six boys and two girls. Helena and George were married for fifty years.
She leaves to mourn her passing five sons and one daughter; Cornelius (Mary) Braun of Barnwell, Jacob, Peter and Daniel Braun of Lethbridge, George Braun and special friend Darlene Daniels of Elkford, British Columbia and Tina (Robert) Griffiths of Manning; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one brother Jacob (Lena) Heide of Vulcan; one sister Kay (Abe) Klassen of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and sister-in-law Anne (Leland) Brown of Unity, Saskatchewan and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother John in 1918; mother Katharina Heide (nee Wall); father Cornelius Heide; brother Cornelius Heide on May 19, 1977; daughter Lena; husband George on September 27, 1986 and son John on June 7, 1989.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, February 20 from 3:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Lethbridge Mennonite Church, 4303 - 3 Avenue South, Lethbridge on Monday, February 21, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Ruth Preston Schilk officiating. Interment followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
