VIOLET JONES

1915 - 2001

Violet Ruth Jones, of Lethbridge, formerly of Brandon, Manitoba and beloved wife of the late Gordon Jones, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at the age of 86 years.
Relatives and Friends were invited to meet with the family at Brockie-Donovan Funeral Home, 332 - 8 Street, Brandon, Manitoba on Friday, August 17, 2001 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Brockie-Donovan Funeral Home on Saturday, August 18, 2001 at 10:30 A.M. with Captain Garry Keeping of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial followed at the Brandon City Cemetery. Violet was born on January 22, 1915 in Pratt, Manitoba. She later met and then married Joseph Gordon Jones in McGregor, Man. in 1939. Together they lived in McGregor for several years before moving to Brandon where they raised their children, Raplh and Wayne. Following her husband’s passing in 1992, Violet moved to Lethbridge to be closer to her family and has resided there up until the time of her passing.
Violet will be forever remembered by her son, Wayne (Marg) Jones of Lethbridge; a daughter-in-law, Joan Jones of Brandon; two grandchildren, Amber Jones and Dennis Jones; a sister, Verla (Fred) O’Neil; and two sisters-in-law, Nellie Pogue and Cecile Hodgins.
Besides her husband Gordon, she was predeceased by a son Ralph.
