MARION KEMPER

1912 - 2001

Marion Martha Kemper of Taber, beloved wife of the late Roy Kemper, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 at the age of 88 years.
Marion was born in Taber on October 30, 1912, the daughter of Robert H. Anderson and Marion (Long) Anderson. She received her schooling at Central School in Taber. She married Roy Kemper on November 9, 1938 in the Anderson family home on 52nd Street, Taber. Roy and Marion farmed in the Cranford area, later retiring to the Town of Taber. She was a member of the Taber Lioness, The Eastern Star and 55 Unit of Knox United Church and the Women’s Institute. Marion enjoyed singing and could be heard on the radio when she sang for war bond drives during WWII. Other interests included badminton, nature and all animals. Those who knew Marion knew her as a loving and caring person who always thought of others before thinking of herself.
Marion is survived by her sisters Ann Anderson of Taber and Barbara (Ray) Hudgens of San Angelo, Texas; special friends Peter and June Lenz of Taber; numerous loving relatives and the many caregivers. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Roy, brother Bob Anderson and two sisters Betty Anderson and Molly Anderson.
Relatives and friends were invited to pay their respects at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, September 17, 2001 between 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating. Burial followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
