JEAN SZUMLAS

1932 - 2001

Genowefa Theresa (Jean) Szumlas of Taber, beloved wife of the late Charles Szumlas, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2001 at the age of 69 years.
Jean was born in Poland on October 6, 1932. She immigrated to Canada at a young age and later married Charles Szumlas. Jean’s children and grandchildren were the main focus of her life. She will be forever remembered by her daughter Mary Ann of Lethbridge and son Peter of Taber; grandchildren Kristen and Scott; sister-in-law Veronica Szumlas of Taber; sisters Maria and Helen and brothers Anthony, Steve and Gus all of Poland and also by numerous nieces and nephews in both Canada and Poland.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles in July 2000 and also by her parents.
Relatives and friends were invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, October 25, 2001 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, October 26, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Father Jim de los Angeles celebrant. Burial followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
