HERMAN FRIESEN

1932 - 2008

Herman P. Friesen, beloved husband of Victoria Friesen of Taber, passed away after a lengthy battle with injury and illness on Monday, October 20, 2008 at the age of 76 years.
Besides his loving wife Victoria, he is survived by his children “little” Herman (Darlene) Friesen of Calgary, Terry (Susan) Friesen of Lethbridge, Melonie (Randy) Weiss of Taber, Alex Friesen of Lethbridge; daughter-in-law Darlene Friesen of Taber and many much loved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Herman is also survived by his siblings Corny (Anne) Friesen, Betty (John) Friesen, Mary (Dale) McKay, Suzie (Bob) Leuey, Irvin Friesen, Walter Friesen as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Susan Friesen; his loving sons Randall and Allan Friesen; great grandson Jonathon Friesen; sister Nettie; brothers Peter and Jake.
Herman was born and raised in Blumenort, Saskatchewan on February 26, 1932. He moved to Barnwell in 1947. He married Victoria Chartrand in 1955 and started raising a family. After trying different careers, they settled in Taber where he was an electrician for many years. Herman loved and cared deeply for his family and friends. He had wonderful wit and enjoyed get togethers with his family, but most of all, Herman cherished the times spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly and greeted with smiles and hugs. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, October 24, 2008 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Elizabeth Brown of the First United Church in Lethbridge officiating. Burial to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
