Alice Valgardson

1925 - 2015

Alice Myrtle Valgardson, beloved wife of the late Art Valgardson, passed away in Taber on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the age of 90 years.

The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. A private burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Alice is survived by her sons Richard (Mary) Valgardson, Clinton (Jude) Valgardson and Neil (Lori) Valgardson all of Taber and daughter Joanne (Frank) Boyd of Grande Prairie; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren. She is also remembered by her sister Jean Rockarts of Grande Prairie, sisters-in-law Marion Moon of Edmonton, Gayle Moon of Grande Prairie and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Art Valgardson; parents Alfred and Myrtle Moon; brothers Jim and Neil Moon; brothers-in-law Brian Boyd and Maurice Rockarts.

Alice was born on January 9, 1925 to the late Alfred & Myrtle Moon in Grande Prairie. She was the oldest of four children. Alice was very devoted to her family and took great pride in all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She received great satisfaction from her career as a Registered Nursing Aide at the Taber General Hospital. Alice had a passion for politics which she had inherited from her father. In her later years, she loved to play tile rummy with all her friends at the Clearview Lodge.

Alice was a long time resident of Clearview Lodge. She always appreciated the wonderful care received from all the staff. The family wish to also express their appreciation for the wonderful care received from Dr. Yawny and the Staff of the Taber Hospital.
