1972 - 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kelly Shawn Wilson in Taber on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at Taber Memorial Garden.

Kelly is survived by his parents David and Linda Wilson; his siblings Keith (Marion) Wilson and their children Darian, Jacob, Riley, Annika and Brooklyn; Kendra Wilson (Chris Chabot) and their children Dawson and Presley; Kendall Wilson (Angela Szigli). He will also be fondly remembered by his grandma Frances Wilson and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandma Helen Lawrence, grandpa George “Stu” Lawrence, grandpa Barton Wilson and his aunt Loretta Lawrence.

Kelly was the eldest son of David and Linda Wilson, born in Taber on July 21, 1972. He was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him with a happy spirit and a ready smile. Kelly had a passion for sports, especially hockey, with the Vancouver Canucks as his favorite team. He could often be found writing down stats and sitting on the edge of his seat cheering on his teams.

Kelly also took pride in his chores, particularly in the mowing the lawn and he also enjoyed fishing and spending time with family.

Kelly touched many lives during his time with us. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
