SYBIL GAMBLE

1929 - 2006

Sybil Margaret Gamble of Taber passed away on Friday, September 1, 2006 at the age of 76 years.
Sybil was born on September 5, 1929 in Lethbridge where she received her schooling. She attended nursing school at the Calgary General Hospital, graduating in 1952. She nursed at the Taber Hospital until 1957, after which she trained as a Public Health nurse at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Following her graduation she worked in various locations, returning to Taber in the early 1960’s. Sybil loved to golf, ski, weave, paint, do arts and crafts and garden. She was involved in social issues such as the food bank and was a member of the Alberta Housing Commission as well as an active member of St. Theodore’s Anglican Church.
She is survived by her brother George (Gayle) Cornish of Osoyoos, BC, nephew Patrick, nieces Ruth and Sonaiya, and by her close friend Margaret Ratcliff of Taber.
She was predeceased by her mother Janet Meikle and her father Clayton Cornish.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Theodore’s Anglican Church, 5120 - 44 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. with The Reverend Wil Stonehill officiating. A Private Interment will take place at the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.
