HARRY IKEBUCHI

1931 - 2004

Mr. Harry Ikebuchi, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Sachiko Ikebuchi, of Taber, passed away at the Taber Hospital on Friday, September 10, 2004 at the age of 73 years.
Harry was born at Mission, BC on April 4, 1931 and was the son of Takaichi and Itoye Ikebuchi. At the age of three, he moved  to Japan where he lived with his grandmother. In 1940, he returned to Canada where he began receiving his schooling in Mission, BC and later moved to Picture Butte, graduating from Taber High School. Following high school, he attended Garbutt Business School. Harry married Sachiko Konno on November 1, 1958. He later attended SAIT, completing his training as a journeyman mechanic. Harry spent many years with Chinook Service in Taber before retiring in June, 2003.
Harry will be remembered by his children Lorraine (Michael) Davis of Burnaby, BC, Roland (Cindy) Ikebuchi and Elaine (Lonny) Gaehring all of Sherwood Park; eight grandchildren Kaitlyn, Gabriel, Joshua, Jeremy, Jenna, Quinlan, Teya & Danielle; two honourary grandchildren Kassidy and Tyler. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers Kay (Syd) Adachi of Lethbridge, Tom (Barb) Ikebuchi of Peachland, BC, Chiyo (Rick) Starling of Qualicum Beach, BC and by his three sisters-in-law Helen, Yo and Alene Ikebuchi and by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his wife Sachi, his son Harry Randall and by three brothers Jim, George and Norman.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929-50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge, at 2:30 P.M.
