GRACE JAMES

1910 - 2004

Grace Alberta James, beloved wife of the late Richard James, passed away in Lethbridge on Thursday, September 17, 2004 at the age of 94 years.
Grace was born July 25, 1910 in Lethbridge to Joseph & Nellie Holton. As she was the first member of their family to be born in Canada she received the middle name of Alberta.  Grace married Richard Stanley James on June 24, 1929. They farmed east of Grassy Lake and also worked and farmed with Stanley's brother Frank. Stanley passed away on February 3, 1974 and for the past eight years Grace has been a resident of Lethbridge Extendicare. 
Grace is survived by her daughter Viola (Allan) Arkinstall of Lethbridge; grandchildren Everett Arkinstall and Valerie Arkinstall of Lethbridge; sisters-in-law Lillian Holton and Helen Holton of Calgary.
She was predeceased by her husband  Richard, a son Frederick in infancy, three brothers and two sisters, father Joseph Holton, mother Nellie McNiven (Holton) and step-father William McNiven.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, September 19, 2004 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.  
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, September 20, 2004 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Wil Stonehill officiating.  Interment to follow at the Prairieview Cemetery, Grassy Lake.
