TONY BORECKI

1922 - 2006

Mr. Antoni "Tony" Borecki, beloved husband of Mrs. Janina Borecki of Taber, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2006 at the age of 83 years.
Tony was born in Dankowice, Poland on May 1, 1922.  In 1940 he was deported to Salzgitter, Germany where he worked as a farm laborer and in the mines. He married Janina Sikora on July 7, 1946.  In 1949 they immigrated to Canada settling in Taber where he worked as a farm laborer and at the Taber Sugar Factory.  In 1953 he commenced employment with the Town of Taber working his way to Public Works foreman and retiring in 1984 as Town superintendent.  His family was foremost in his life as well as fishing, dancing and socializing.  Tony was also active in St. Augustine's Church.
Besides his loving wife Janina, he will be sadly missed by his two daughters and families; Chris (Bill) Reamsbottom of Taber and their two children Cory (Trent) Purvis and children Nicholas, Isabella and Kyle; Brad Reamsbottom (Sara Hammond) and her children Madison and Mackenzie; Terry MacLellan (Dennis Cebuliak) of Leduc and her children Kelsey and Taylor; a sister Toni Szafran and her daughter Krystyna of Ontario; three brothers Walter, Frank and Ted and their families in Poland; and Janina's brothers and sister in New York. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters and an infant brother.  
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006-48 Ave., Taber on Friday, February 3, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009-48 Ave., Taber on Saturday, February 4 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS Celebrant.  Interment to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Tony's name may be made directly to the charity of one's personal choosing.
