EVELYN LINNEN

1929 - 2006

Evelyn Maxine Linnen of Bow Island, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2006 at the age of 77 years.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Eileen (Neil) Schmidt of Bow Island and their daughters Alison & Jocelyn; her son Gerald (Lynn) Linnen of Hayward, California and their children Neil of Texas and Bryan, Tia, Latron & Karrianna of Hayward. She is also survived by her sisters Lois (Warren) Wattie, Ora Petrinack, Murla (Jim) Bodnarek, Lorna (Ken) Hopkins-Taylor, Marilyn (Ken) Hassman and Reta (Ben) Tokarek; two brothers Roger Buchanan and Byron Buchanan and by two sisters-in-law Jean Buchanan and Marion Buchanan.
She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers, John, Howard, Ross and Gary Buchanan and by a brother-in-law, Dr. Nick Petrinack.
Evelyn was born March 23, 1929 in Grand Coulee, Saskatchewan, one of thirteen children born to Frank & Virginia (Virga) Buchanan. She moved to Alberta in 1961, settling in the Bow Island area, where she has resided until her passing. She liked to laugh, was witty and had exceptional hearing. She enjoyed her cup of tea, watching “The Young & The Restless” and visiting with her friends on the phone. Despite battling many medical conditions, Evelyn always had a positive and cheerful disposition. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
  A special thanks is extended to the staff at the Bow Island Health Centre and also to Home Care for the compassionate and gentle way in which our mother’s needs were met.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Alfred Egan Home, Day Room, 1039 - 1 Street East, Bow Island on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra McMillan of the St. Andrew’s United Church in Bow Island, officiating.
