DENNIS BENNETT

1912 - 2005

Dennis Charles Bennett, beloved husband of the late Vera Harding Bennett, passed away in Taber on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at the age of 92 years.
Dennis was born in Taber, Alberta on December 8, 1912. He was the third son of William Alvin Bennett and Mary Walker Bennett. He had four brothers and two sisters. On June 29, 1949, Dennis married Vera Harding in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They lived on a farm east of Taber all their married life.
Dennis was a farmer who loved the land. He was a hard worker and served for several years on the boards of the Taber Canning Association and the Taber-Barnwell Beet Growers' Association. Dennis was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many assignments, including Bishop. He loved the people he served. He had a good singing voice and loved to participate in church choirs.
Dennis is survived by his daughter Mary and three sons Rod (Wendy) of Lethbridge, Kendon (Joan) and Lloyd (Yolanda) of Taber; his brother Ray (Dorothy) of Taber; and sisters Lila (Reuben) Huber of Redcliff and Ruth Potts of Taber; sixteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Vera and his brothers Cliff, Bill and Jim.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service from 9:40 A.M. to 10:40 A.M. on Tuesday, October 25, 2005. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Michael Saunders conducting. Interment to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
