EDWARD MARTIN

1936 - 2007

Edward David Martin beloved husband of Patricia Martin of Warner, passed away in Taber on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at the age of 71 years.
Besides his loving wife Pat, he is survived by his children Nora Lee (David) Wozny of Bellville, Ontario; Owen Martin of Cold Lake; Shaunine (Darren) Barber of Owen Sound, Ontario; Ed Martin of Barnwell; Maureen (Kevin) Eliasson of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.  He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Bryan (Alice) Campbell-Hope of Edmonton and Alden (Moragh) Campbell-Hope of Victoria as well as numerous other relatives.
He was predeceased by his parents and one sister.
Edward was born May 15, 1936 in Vancouver.  He married Patricia Campbell-Hope on August 21, 1961.  Edward had a great love for Canada and served his country for forty eight years with distinction. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  Edward was an active member of the  Lions Club of Warner, Taber Royal Canadian Legion and was the oldest member of the Taber Paintball Association.  He also served as a councilman for the Village of Warner.  Edward's passion for the military lead to him opening a military museum in Warner, which he donated all of the artifacts for.  He enjoyed gardening, paintball, building and was a real history buff.  He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Barnwell Cemetery on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with The Reverend Wil Stonehill officiating.
