He was predeceased by his first wife Grace in 1994; his son Melvin in 2001 and his parents Mike and Alice Ondrik.
Roy was born in Medicine Hat December 25, 1931 and was raised on the family farm south of Etzikom. He went to school at One Four, Hoping and Foremost High School. After completing school, Roy went to work on the family farm and farmed until he retired in the early nineties. He spent many happy years playing for dances with his best friends. Roy was an avid hunter and a long time member of the Foremost Fish and Game Club and the Foremost Elks Club. The best of his memories would be the music practice sessions, bridge parties, the summers in Waterton and the winters in Arizona, golfing every chance he had. Roy spent his later years at the Pleasant View Lodge in Bow Island and the Riverview Care Centre in Medicine Hat. A life lived well, but over too soon.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
