LILIE RASH

1917 - 2005

Mrs. Eliza "Lilie" Emily Rash, beloved wife of Mr. Howard Rash of Taber, passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the age of 88 years.
Lilie was born in Surbiton Surrey, England on March 23, 1917.  She received her schooling in England and served with the British Navy (Her Majesty Royal Navy).  She married Howard Rash in England on January 19, 1945 and came to Canada in 1946. Lilie and Howard were involved in mission work with the Church of Christ for many years. She experienced a varied and interesting life which took her from native England to Calgary, Grande Prairie and Weyburn, Saskatchewan as a minister's wife. In 1965 they moved south of Purple Springs where she spent 27 years as a farmers helpmate.  She delighted in the visits of her grandchildren and later of the great grandchildren.  In 1993 Howard and Lilie moved to Taber. Her outgoing personality endeared her to many.
Besides her loving husband Howard, she is survived by her two children Jennifer (Len) Fletcher of Calgary and Douglas (Joyce) Rash of Calgary; five grandchildren Heather (Andrew), Kathy, Paula (Jason), Traci, Chauncey (Heidi); eight great grandchildren Erika, Heidi, Jesse, Stephan, Amanda, Jesse, Brandon and Liam; a sister Winnifred of England; sister-in-law Ruth Campbell and a brother-in-law Tom (Leota) Rash.
She was predeceased by four brothers.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006-48 Ave., Taber on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with  Pastor Wes Midgett officiating. Interment to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
