MARY RESSLER

1918 - 2005

Mrs. Maria "Mary" Eva Ressler, beloved wife of the late Mr. John Ressler, of Taber, passed away at the Taber Hospital on Thursday, March 10, 2005 at the age of 87 years.
Mary was born on January 17, 1918 in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan where she received her schooling. She married John Ressler January 28, 1935 and in 1942 they left Fox Valley, settling in Taber. Mary was actively involved organizing and coaching junior and senior ladies fastball, was a 50 year member of both the C.W.L. and the Royal Canadian Legion, Life Member of the Order of the Royal Purple as well as a member of the Handibus Committee and the 60+ club. Over the years Mary was interested in politics, volunteering and participating with the Social Credit Party. Mary also enjoyed playing bingo with her companion John.
Mary will be missed by her six children Bertha (Fred Sikkens) Moore of Lethbridge, Phil (Abe) Andres of Taber, Leo (Joan) Ressler of Cranbrook, Bill (Kathy) Ressler of Bow Island, Terry (Barb Jensen) Ressler of Beaverlodge and Sherry Ressler of Whitby, Ontario; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; her special friend and companion John Reti; brothers Vincent Frey of Medicine Hat, Mike (Julie) Frey of Kelowna, B.C., Hank Frey of Medicine Hat, Peter (Tina) Frey of Medicine Hat and a sisters-in-law Evelyn Frey of Barnwell, Helen Frey of Medicine Hat and also by her step brothers and sisters.
Mary was predeceased by her husband John, daughter Violet, son Wilfred, twins Rose and Jackie, grandson Ragen Andres,  granddaughter Brenda Lee House as well as her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 5009-48 Ave., Taber on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS Celebrant. Interment to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
