JOHN TAMTOM

1928 - 2006

Mr. John Tamtom, beloved husband of Mrs. Maggie Tamtom of Taber, passed away in Taber on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at the age of 77 years.
John was born in Sockolovac, Yugoslavia on October 7, 1928.  He immigrated to Canada in 1948, along with his parents and sister, settling in Barnwell.  On November 20, 1950 he married Maggie Tumpek.  In 1952 they began farming in Barnwell and in 1962 purchased a farm northeast of Taber.  They retired to the Town of Taber in 1995.
Besides his wife Maggie of Taber he is survived by three children; Maggie (Jim) Lorence of Beaumont, Alberta, Steve of Taber and George of Medicine Hat; a sister Regina of Vancouver;  five grandchildren Alana (Frank) McMorrow, Jessica Tamtom, Jarrid Tamtom, Jayna Tamtom and Jaden Tamtom.  John was predeceased by his two brothers Steve and Geno.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, Taber on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. with Rob McCoy officiating.  Interment to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
