ELISABETH WEIPPERT

1933 - 2009

Elisabeth Weippert, beloved wife of Herbert Weippert of Lethbridge, formerly of Taber, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the age of 75 years.
Elisabeth was born October 7, 1933 in Gross Kikinda, Yugoslavia. She lived in Germany with family before immigrating to Coaldale in 1953. She settled with her family in Taber and eventually met and married Herbert on October 22, 1955. They resided in the Taber area and finally retired to Lethbridge.
Elisabeth worked in the farm fields when she arrived in Canada and later while raising her family enjoyed hosting family functions. She had a passion for crocheting and various crafts and
looked forward to her times with her craft and swim groups from Rio Vista Condo where she resided.
Elisabeth is survived by her husband Herbert and children John of Edson, Mary Besler of Calgary, Peter (Darlene) of Taber, Linda (Perry) Hussey of Edson, Robert of Edson and Ed of Edson; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers Paul (Dixie) Plettl of Vauxhall, Steve (Victoria) Plettl of Calgary, Fred (Gail) Plettl of Lethbridge, John (Ellen) Plettl of Coalhurst; brother-in-law Manfred Thoms of Watervalley; sister-in-law Karen Plettl of Calgary, brother-in-law Hugo (Anne) Weippert of Lethbridge; sisters-in-law Lili (Otto) Pipke Camrose, Irma (John) Kleiner of Lethbridge, Gertrude (Nelson) Erman of Lethbridge and Klara (Peter) Traudt of Vegreville as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her sisters Rosa Thoms and Francis Kangiesser, brother Joe Plettl, son-in-law Dallis Besler and brother-in-law Daniel Weippert.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, February 2, 2009 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 4619 - 56 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Carl Bogda officiating. Burial to follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Elisabeth’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s personal choosing.
