DWIGHT WILKINSON

1928 - 2005

Mr. Dwight Courtland Wilkinson, beloved husband of Mrs. Dorothy Wilkinson of Taber, passed away in Calgary on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at the age of 77 years.
Dwight was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on August 28, 1928. Following High School he attended Art School in Detroit and New York. He later graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with his Law Degree. He articled in Regina later moving to Swift Current where he met his wife Dorothy. Dwight and Dorothy were married on November 3, 1962. They resided in Medicine Hat moving to Taber in 1969 where he practiced law, retiring in 1988. Dwight had a passion for art which was evident by the many pictures he drew that are prominently displayed in many businesses and homes in the area. He was very active in community affairs serving on the Taber Police Commission, which he also drew the crest for, painting the many backdrops for figure skating carnivals, coached soccer and hockey and was in general greatly concerned with the activities of the community.
Dwight is survived by his loving wife Dorothy and their three children Heather Russell of Coaldale and her children Matthew, Adam and Braeden; Kerilee (Sandy) Petrie of Taber and their children Scott, Corey and Jamie; Greg of Calgary; sister Ann (Cam) Osler of Saskatoon; sister-in-law Helen Wilkinson of Regina and also by numerous nieces and nephews.  
He was predeceased by a brother Lynn, sisters Margaret and Ruth, parents Reverend William and Edith, nephew Kelly Busse and father-in-law Alex Busse.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006-48 Ave., Taber on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox United Church, 4929-50 Ave., Taber on Thursday, November 17 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Jim Lochhead officiating.
