JULIA ASTALOS

1910 - 2007

Mrs. Julia Astalos (nee Vas) of Taber, beloved wife of the late Mr. James Astalos, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the age of 96 years.
She is survived by her children Joe (Anne) Megyes, Alex (Anne) Astalos and Margaret (Dave) Duggan all of Taber, Elizabeth (Alex) Forsyth of Viking and Mary (Bob) Swain of Calgary; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Julia was born at Kisterenye, Hungary on October 25, 1910.  She immigrated to Canada in July of 1928 and settled on a farm near Taber.
Julia was predeceased by her first husband Charles Megyes in 1937 and by her second husband Jim Astalos in 1977.
Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006-48 Ave., Taber on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 7:00 P.M.  Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009-48 Ave., Taber on Tuesday, March 20 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Mariusz Sztuk SDS Celebrant.  Interment will follow in the Taber Memorial Garden.
