MURRAY WHITNEY

1944 - 2009

Robert Murray Whitney, passed away in Taber on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the age of 65 years.
He is survived by Shirley Whitney; sons Carlin (Lori) Whitney of Lethbridge, Kent Whitney of Lethbridge and Darren (Bonnie) Whitney of Calgary and their daughter Kate as well as numerous other relatives.
He was predeceased by his parents Grant and Madeline Whitney; sister and brother-in-law Doreen (Don) Cull.
Murray was born in Medicine Hat on January 14, 1944. He was raised and schooled in Bow Island. Murray served with the Taber Police Service from 1964 till his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Taber Legion. Murray enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting and camping. He will be missed by family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Sandra Riddell officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
