1925 - 2010

George Virostek, beloved husband of Shirley Virostek of Enchant, passed away in Taber on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the age of 85 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, November 11, 2010 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Enchant Community Hall, Enchant on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jeffery Frostad officiating. Burial to follow at the Enchant Cemetery.
Besides Shirley, his loving wife of fifty seven years, George is survived by his four sons Kevin (Richelle Humphries) Virostek of Coalhurst, Darcy (Deb) Virostek of Enchant, Sheldon (Geri) Virostek of Enchant and Blaine (Pat) Virostek of DeWinton; seven grandchildren Scott (Tammy) Virostek, Brett (Dawn) Virostek, Mitch (Camee) Virostek, Kelsey (Mitch) Honess, Marty (Jenn) Virostek, Colby (Christine) Virostek and Brady Virostek; eight great grandchildren Kassidy, Keira, Brodyn, Emma, Kayden, London, Kaden and Kolter. George is also survived by two brothers Donald (Donna) Virostek of Lethbridge and Wayne (Joan) Virostek of Warner; two sisters Josephine Kondas of Lethbridge and Theresa (Larry) Haller of Enchant; two sisters-in-law Diane Virostek of Lethbridge, Linda Virostek of Enchant and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Samuel & Mary Virostek; brothers Sam Virostek, Joseph Virostek, Michael Virostek, Verne Virostek and Lawrence Virostek; sisters Helen (Emil) Gebert, Mary Berger, Betty Speager; two brothers-in-law Steve Kondas, Simon Berger and daughter-in-law Wendy Virostek.
George was born in Enchant March 31, 1925. He was extremely proud to have called the Enchant community home his entire life. His passion was for his family, his friends and he was a huge fan of sports. George believed that John Deere, Hereford cows and Dodge trucks was what this world should have been made of. He was a quick witted tease that will never be forgotten.

George’s family would like to thank both the Home Care and Taber Hospital staff for the care and compassion shown to him.
