Maureen McAlister

1948 - 2025

Maureen Suzanne McAlister, passed away in Taber surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the age of 76 years.

Maureen is survived by her children Rodney (Christina) Coutts of Taber and Carrie (Deb) Coutts of Creston, British Columbia; grandchildren Jett, Jaxson, Marissa, Shayla, Stefan, Amanda (Ryan), Danielle (Dustin) and Jordan (Taiya) as well as nine great grandchildren.

Maureen was born September 28, 1948 in Big Valley to the late Robert and Elizabeth McAlister. She was the youngest of six children (Jane, Bud, Beth, Wendy and Bill), two preceded her in death. Maureen moved to Lethbridge in 1965 and graduated from L.C.I in 1966. She lived and worked in Lethbridge for a number of years, then married Wayne Coutts in 1969, and together they had two children. They later divorced in 1975. Maureen went on to work odd jobs and eventually moved to Coaldale and this is where she reconnected with her second husband, Neil Hoskins. Neil had two children of his own who Maureen loved dearly. They moved to Taber in 1977, and this is where they raised their children. Maureen was a bookkeeper for many years which she enjoyed. She loved spending time with family, her dog Xena, her cats, knitting, golfing, curling and was an avid reader. Maureen was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Our lives are forever better because of you. We love you.

Maureen will be remembered privately by her family.
