Solidified remains are a new form of human and pet remains. Instead of receiving cremated remains following cremation, you can now receive "stones." We can also solidify cremated remains that you are currently living with.

Our process takes on average 8-10 weeks to complete once the cremated remains arrive at the Parting Stone Lab. At times, we have a waitlist of orders and you will be notified of the current wait time before checking out on our website. Since each order is processed individually, the amount of time that it actually takes may be shorter or longer than our estimate.

Every set of remains they receive is labeled and tracked throughout the entire processing. They have individualized equipment for each step of the process and the ashes are never mingled. A single Parting Stone technician handles your loved one’s remains throughout the process.

There is no shelf life for ashes, we can solidify them no matter their age.

If you do not have the full amount or have already scattered some of the remains, that is okay. We solidify the entire amount of cremated remains you send us into solidified remains; however, we need at least ¼ cup to complete the process.

Solidified remains are the result of a process that we have limited personalization control over. We deliver a beautiful collection of "stones" with a variety of sizes, shapes, textures, and colors unique to each individual.

We return a collection of stones of various shapes and sizes. Solidified remains range in diameter from the size of a quarter (1") up to the length of a credit card (3”). You can expect a range in height from .75” up to 2”.

Like a natural stone, they do not disintegrate or dissolve.

There is about a 1:1 ratio of ash to solidified remains. For example, if we receive 6 cups of ash, we will return roughly 6 cups of "stones". An average full set of human remains typically yields 40-80 stones ranging in diameter from about the size of a quarter to about 3” around.

The composition of remains varies by human, pet, and animal species and each reacts extremely differently during the solidification process. We have designed a specific process for each unique situation to ensure the successful solidification of remains.
