Anne was born in Taber on October 28, 1939. She grew up on a farm where she developed her life long love of gardening and she even worked in the produce department at IGA in Taber. Anne had many friends growing up and met Alex, her husband of sixty three years while cruising the streets of Taber.
Anne and her sweetheart were married and had a wonderful life together. Anne, along with her husband Alex, farmed southeast of Taber for just over forty years before retiring. Anne was often found in the fields running the tractor, floating or defoliating beets.
Anne was blessed with a daughter Deb followed by her son Alan and was a great mother. She always loved having family around and made sure everyone always had something to eat. Anne was born to be a grandmother and she doted on her grandchildren and they have many fond memories of spending time at the farm with her and Grandpa. Growing up, each of her grandchildren called her “Grandma on the Farm”.
In 2010, Alex and Anne moved into Taber where she had a gorgeous flower garden and always said that she was thankful for having a green thumb. While retired, she focused on her love of baking and was eager to teach her grandchildren her tricks to the best pastries and cinnamon buns. After ten years, she and Alex moved into Linden View. Over the last few years, Anne had health issues but she was one tough lady. She will be greatly missed!
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Anne’s name may be made directly to a charity of choice.
The family would like to thank the caregivers, doctors and nurses who touched her life and called her “One Sweet Lady”.
