Darrel Nachay

1963 - 2025

 Darrel James Nachay, father, grandpa, uncle, great uncle and friend, passed away in his sleep at home on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the age of 62 years.

The Burial Service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden, 7600 - 50 Street, Taber on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Life Celebrant Shelly Bassett officiating. A celebration of Darrel’s life will follow at Luigi’s Restaurant, 5036 - 46 Avenue, Taber. 

Darrel is survived by his best friend and great nephew Maverick Ross and he leaves behind a daughter Melissa “Tejay” Nachay and granddaughter Adalynn. He is also survived by his mother Ella Nachay; sister Gail Williamson of Taber and her two daughters Amanda and Adena (Brandon) and their daughter Caliana; sister Brenda (Rob) Ross of Barnwell and their two sons Jarred (Amanda) and their son Maverick (mentioned above) and Chad (Jylian) and their children Cooper and Aubrey.

He was predeceased by his son Daniel Darrel James Nachay, his father James Nachay and his beloved dog Bailey. Darrel loved his dog Bailey, his trusted sidekick that he never left for long.

Darrel was born on January 13, 1963. He was the second child and first son born to Jim and Ella. Darrel lived most of his life in the MD of Taber, loving the acreage life. He went to school in Taber and spent his career at Automart. In his retirement, Darrel loved to cook for his friends and family and he also found a love for garage sales. If you needed it, he found it. Most times you didn’t know you needed it.
